Luk Foo Restaurant

Friday, September 24, 2010

September 13, 2010. It was Lola Ada's 93rd birthday! Everyone is so excited for this event. Not just a birthday celebration but also a reunion for Madlang-awa's Family.

Since the family looking for a new place, they have decided to have a great time in Chinese Restaurant, and Luk Foo Restaurant is a good choice. :). The food was so very great and superb to taste. I am sure that I will be coming back to taste other menus.

There were so many foods to choose from, but since this was a birthday celebration and i am one of the lucky person that invited, foods were just popping out onto our table. :).

Ooops! by the way, Luk Foo Restaurant is also one of the fave restaurant of our President NoyNoy! This was featured in "Umagang KayGanda" (morning show here in Philippines) as Pres. NOY's fave resto. His faves are the green soup, garlic crab, minced squid and shrimp salad.

I will say...

I will recommend Luk Foo Restaurant to my friends and colleague. The food presentation is very nice, well for Luk Foo, as well its food is tastes so good. The interior design is beautiful and clean, that makes you relax upon eating and ask for more! The waiters and waitress are friendly, they always put a smile in their face while assisting every customer needs. Hooray for Luk Foo.You better try it to satisfy you taste bud.

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf -- a place to chillax

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Me and my "mahal" is not an avid fan of coffee, But we love Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, not because of the coffee but because of their Ice blended coffee-free drinks and as well their Cakes that always matches with the ice blends.

After a heavy meal, that made us bloated. We were look for Coffee Bean and stay there to chillax and of course to have our favorites, Sunrise Ice Blend and Vanilla Ice Blend, together with cakes that we always loook forward to taste, variety of cakes and this time we have the Toblerone Cheesecake.

Toblerone Cheesecake.

Toblerone tidbits sprinkled on top and Oreo as a crust. So yummy, I am very much inlove with cheese. So this one is already included on my top list. I love this because the cake is not that sweet that makes me crave for more having no "sawa" factor. I will surely have this again for our next visit.

Toblerone Cheesecake with Vanilla Ice Blend and Sunrise Ice Blend with whip cream.
So very refreshing drinks and food to eat and drink during chit chat times that we don't even notice that there is no more drinks to sip. :)

Five Love Languages

Thursday, September 16, 2010

My officemate pop me with this link:
http://www.5lovelanguages.com/learn-the-languages/the-five-love-languages/

And as I opened the link, it was directed to a webpage that tackles the Five Love Languages. Well, you can also buy the book if you want to know more about love that lasts long or I'd rather say that do the "till death do us part".

What are the Five Love Language according to this book?

1. Words of Affirmation. Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.

2. Quality Time. In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.

3. Receiving Gifts. Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.

4. Acts of Service. Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter.

5. Physical Touch. This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.

I took an assessment to Learn my Language and the result was:

WORD OF AFFIRMATION.  Well the result is somehow true for me. I love to hear my special someone, friends and family "I love you". And insults always leaves a mark in my heart, I can't easily forget those insulting words.

Now its your turn, take an assessment and let us know your Love Language. :)

TimTam Slam

Let's talk about chocolates. One of my favorite and love to eat is chocolates! No matter what is that as long as it is chocolates, i will surely grab one.

My boyfriend gave me a TimTam chocolate fresh from Australia because his Aunt's and Lola came home after a long years of stay in Australia to celebrate Lola's 93rd birthday (i will also blog that event as soon as possible) here in the Philippines. For now, let's talk about TimTam and the Timtam Slam

Tim Tams are a chocolate biscuit made by Arnott's Biscuits, Australia. A Tim Tam is composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate.

The Tim Tam Slam is the practice of drinking a hot beverage, e.g. hot chocolate, through a Tim Tam.

I prefer to used hot chocolate everytime i did the TimTam Slam.

Here's the Process of having a great TimTam Slam:

Opposite corners of the Tim Tam are bitten off, one end is submerged in the drink, and the drink sucked  through the biscuit. The crisp inside biscuit is softened and the outer chocolate coating begins to melt.

Ideally, the inside of the biscuit should collapse but the outside should remain intact long enough for the liquid to reach the mouth. Refrigerating them helps to preserve the outside coating while allowing the inside of the biscuit to melt.

The thicker chocolate coating on the Double Coat Tim Tam offers a more stable structure to prevent a premature collapse. The caramel centre of the Chewy Caramel variety helps to hold the biscuit together for a slightly longer time.

Have a great TimTam Slam!

Fashion is not only for clothes. You can also have it on your iPhones, Laptops, Mp3s or Mp4s. You can put skin onto your things. The more colors the more brightful and wonderful it would be.

I have my G-Cube Aloha Night Mouse for almost a year now. I like it because i can choose from many colorful designs that they have, surely that suits to your mood like mine.  G-Cube is specially designed by women for women. Kudos! Their products are not only stylish but are also functional and meet the needs of women. But it doesn't mean that only girls can have this, men can also have this that really suited to their taste.

Well, as what G-Cube says, G-Cube is designed with YOU in MIND. G-Cube wants you to express Who You Are at home, at work, at school, the local shop, the PTA, or at your next national sales meeting. But for me, it is designed for "ALWAYS on the GO!" like me. G-Cube wants to be yourself and Inspire Others!

my Life: My New Workstation at the Office

Saturday, September 4, 2010

I've been working in an IT Company as a Software Engineer for 2 years and 6 months now and still counting. But due to the expansion of our company we need to move in from 35th floor to 36th floor in order to accommodate our growing team since we don't have enough space in 35th floor.

This is my new workstation. On my tables are my cute stuffs that can make me feel relax all day even though I have lots of projects and task to do throughout the day.

My table stuffs are my giant ant, the two kangaroos - a gift from my boyfriend from Australia, a bear, cupcake soap, a shot glass - from my office-mate who have his vacation in Vegas, ballpen and pencil holder which is also a picture frame, three colors of glass from McDonalds, my two Buddhas, and many more which not been captured by my phone camera.

This is my two Buddhas, the Laughing Buddha and Buddha carrying a sack of wealth.. :)

Buddha Statues inspire us to develop our inner qualities to achieve happiness, good fortune, and satisfaction in our lives. Place Buddha Statues in central areas in your home or office for daily inspiration and as a reminder of our own capacity to achieve the good life.

The Laughing Buddha himself is a vision of happiness; his face is always in a happy, laughing expression (hence his name) and his position is jolly. He is a manifestation of wealth luck due to all the auspicious symbols that he holds, some of these being a Ru Yi, Wu Lou, and various gold ingots and coins. He also usually keeps beside him pots and bags filled with treasures.

It is not bad to believe to those things like feng shui or buddhas or any statues out there, because at the end of the day, it's still your choice, it's still in your hands whether you become successful or a loser.

Till Next time!!!
