Hausgemachter Leberkase // Homemade Meat Loaf with potato salad and pretzel.

It was Friday afternoon with a gloomy weather but who cares, it’s Friday and should be spent wisely! Thus, spending the night with my blogger friends in the comfort of great and authentic German foods was worthy enough to stay longer despite of traffic and possible floods on the way home.

A new bakery slash restaurant opens in the heart of Makati Central Business District to offer a great fare of authentic German cuisines and pastries. Well, I am talking about Wagner German Bakery which is located at Ground Floor of Two Central Building, Valero St., Makati City. Wagner German Bakery serves authentic German dishes plus serving the food incorporating its culture. Stepping inside the restaurant made you feel like you are in an Octoberfest celebration due to the way staffs dressed up. Plus, I had a chance to used one of their coveted hand-made stone mug! Best mug ever for beers! I know, beer-lovers you got to agree with me on this.

Pretzels!

The restaurant has this cozy ambiance, neat, and the wonderful smell of breads would delight your nose to make your visit even more interesting. The wooden tables and chairs elegantly placed on the right corners that give justice to its space. The walls are painted white with some interesting decors – Olga and Angelo’s certificates are also mounted in the wall. By the way, they’re the chefs of Wagner German Bakery.

What enticed me upon entering the restaurant were the big pretzels on the counter top! They look so yummy and that was my first time to eat a real pretzel – not that sweet and very different of the usual pretzels available in the Philippines which are mostly sweetened and flavored. Of course, Wagner German Bakery’s breads are best paired with coffee. Speaking of culture, in Germany coffee is served in a steel tray with a placemat then a cup of coffee and a small glass of water with a teaspoon on top of it. So, yeah dining at Wagner German Bakery would also gives you a glimpse of what Germans usually do.

What I loved and liked about this restaurant was that, everything they serve was made from their kitchen. Thus, it only deals with freshness and of good quality ingredients. And the serving is good for sharing. I was already full and was like in a food coma when I thought that we’re already done with our eating adventure but truly, the best is save for last! By far, Wagner German Bakery had the best pistachio gelato in town. Guys, it is a must-try!

So for now, let me indulge you of what this authentic German restaurant can offer. Enjoy!
